Inexpensive Kids Birthday Party Locations

While throwing your child a birthday party is high on any parents list, most people don't want to spend a fortune for the celebration. Depending on the time of year and your budget, there are some great options for the location of the party (other than your home).

If you do decide to throw a party outside your home, be sure to include your child in the location decision. If the child is young, you may want to bring them to the location prior to the party so that they can get comfortable and excited about the upcoming event. Most kids look forwarding to opening their presents at the end of their party. So whatever option you choose, make sure you set aside a special place where all the party goers can place the birthday gifts.

1. Town Park Shelter. Many local communities offer rental shelters at the parks where they have picnic tables, grills and play equipment for the kids. The older children can go play while the adults hang out. The food doesn't have to be gourmet, instead keep it simple and easy like barbecuing hot dogs or burgers or a couple baked lasagnas with salad. Follow up with a fun birthday cake from your local warehouse club, grocery store or your own kitchen.

2. Fast Food Restaurant. Both McDonald's and Hardees offer kids parties that include a party hostess, food and cake at reasonable prices. The other great thing about these restaurants is that many have Playlands or plastic ball pits so that the kids can be entertained while the adults chit-chat and relax a bit.

3. Children's or Science Museum. If you have a larger budget, a local science or children's museum can be a great place to hold a birthday party. Some places have party hostesses and provide some supplies, so just check what they provide in your city. You may only need to bring a birthday cake and presents.

4. Movie Theater. Many towns have inexpensive or dollar show theaters that will rent out the entire theater or give you big group discount as well as discounts on snacks and soda. Some theaters will let you bring in some of your own snacks and a cake so just check and see what can be done at your local theater by speaking with the manager.

5. Neighborhood Club House. If you live in a planned community, chances are that you have a club house in your neighborhood or apartment complex. Often these rooms are either free or can be rented for a nominal fee by residents. The club house would likely give you more room than your home, but it would still be close enough that you could set up the birthday party relatively easily. Not to mention, you don't have to clean your house!

6. Local Fire Department. Often times, local fire departments have rooms that they will allow local residents utilize for free or for a nominal fee. Some fire departments will even give the children of a private birthday party a tour of the department and let them try on some of the firefighters' gear and get their photos taken. JLS Facts

JLS facts are not hard to come by seeing as the band was established in a public manner via the television show, The X Factor.

JLS stands for Jack the Lad Swing and consists of four members. Aston Merrygold was born on the 13th February 1988, Marvin Hume was born on the 18th March 1985, Jonathan "JB" Gill was born on the 7th December 1986, and Oritsé Williams was born on the 27th November 1986.

The formation of the band is the result of Oritsé deciding to get involved with the music industry as a member of a boy band due to his mother suffering from multiple sclerosis. His ambition was to raise money to help find a cure of the disease. Oritsé initially wanted to be a part of an existing band but was not satisfied with the groups he found as he wanted a band that had a close bond. As a result of his dissatisfaction, he decided to create his own band.

Oritsé met with Marvin through friends, and soon after, Aston joined the band, with JB being the final member, who was welcomed by the others because of his strong 'musical ear.' JB is often considered the 'harmoniser' of the group because of his vocal ability.

The foursome, now known as JLS was originally called UFO, standing for Unique Famous Outrageous. They received raved reviews before being signed by a major record label. In 2007, they were awarded for Best Unsigned Act at the Urban Music Awards under their previous name, UFO.

JLS, still known as UFO, auditioned for The X Factor show in 2008, where they changed their name to the now widely know JLS after the name UFO had already been taken by another group. The guys were a quick favourite with the judges, considered to be the winning act by Simon Cowell after performing the Rihanna smash hit song "Umbrella." The band made it to the final but was beaten by Alexandra Burke who got to perform with Beyonce Knowles on the night. Although the band came in second place, they were already firmly in the public eye and were swiftly given a recording deal by Epic Records in January 2009.

In July 2009, the JLS debut single "Beat Again" was released, which reach number 1 on the Official UK Singles Chart, with an album that shortly followed. JLS concert dates were soon released with thousands of tickets being snapped up by fans who till this day remain loyal to the band.

After only a few short years in the public eye, the band are loved by millions of fans across the country, with more people - namely teenage girls - following the band's career dedicatedly. Their second album, "Outta This World" has seen demand for JLS Tickets soar, with fans wanting to see them perform their rave review dance sequences. Recently, the band announced the release of the JLS 3D Concert Movie title "Eyes Wide Open," which is being shown simultaneously across cinemas nationwide in June. A "JLS ticket" to this concert movie screening is treasured by fans leading the boy band to grow their fan base with amazing reviews from both fans and critics.

JLS are said to be working on their third album, which is predicted to garner an even bigger fan base, with JLS concert tickets set to be a high commodity when news of new JLS tour dates are released.

How Do You Get a Big Butt?

There are three different main ways to get a bigger butt. Others emphasize on exercising, others surprisingly on eating. Which of these ways suits for you depends much on your genetics. First of all you have to get the clear vision of your goals, are you just after a bigger bottom or do you want a toned big butt?

1. Way to get a big butt: Eating

This is the most easiest and perhaps the most obvious. When you eat more than you consume, your body starts to gather fat around the body. Here is the catch though, it depends on your body type and genetics where the fat gathers. If you are one of those persons, who's body starts to gather the fat around your booty first then this is an option for you. Simply eat more than you consume. But if you are one of those people who's body starts to gather the fat all-around the body, or in some other places first then this is not for you. Those who get bigger butt by eating can of course do exercising with weights to firm up their big butt!

2. Way to get a big butt: Having one by genes

Some people just seem to have it, big butt by genes. These people have big butts naturally, even though they were not eating "too much". These people just have it. No matter what they do, they also can't get rid of it. Then again, they can exercise to firm up their booty too.

3. Way to get a big butt: Exercising

This method is my personal favorite, since it is the only which you can really affect yourself. There are many different butt exercises which can be done, some working better than others. Best way to get more size and firm up your booty is to exercise with weights. Resistance is the key for any muscle building and getting a big butt is not any different from this. This to be said, I can't promise to everyone a really big butt instantly it is hard work to get your glutes growing, but truly not impossible!

So actually there is only one healthy way to get a bigger butt, or to firm up your bigger butt and that is exercising. Not everybody can have huge butt through exercising, but everyone can surely have bigger and rounder butt. Only thing you need to do is just start exercising.

Thailand - Chang Mai and the Night Market

Chang Mai is the largest city in the north of Thailand and well worth a trip. In many ways, Chang Mai is similar to Bangkok, but without the mass of people.

Chang Mai is perhaps the most serene big city I have ever had the privilege of visiting. Located at the foot of a large mountain, the city nicely meshes older areas with modern conveniences. Serene Buddhist temples stand only a few blocks from bustling universities. Much of the city can be walked, but moped rentals are cheap and plentiful. Street markets are common, but the hustle and bustle of Bangkok is not.

The night market is perhaps the most noted thing about Chang Mai. Located in the eastern side of the city, the night market runs about a mile down the length of street dwarfed by malls, restaurants, stores selling art and spas. The stalls on the side of the road tend to sell cheap touristy products, but you should check them out anyway to sample some of the food items. Thais seem to take great humor from cooking anything they can get their hands on so long as they can gross out the tourist. Yep, you can munch on fried roaches, spiders, crickets and so on. For a good laugh, one can hang out around the stalls and watch tourist try the delicacies. It's like the show Fear Factor without the washboard stomachs and breast implants.

To find the "good stuff" at the night market, you should head off the street and up into the open air malls. As you move towards the back of the malls, the quality of the products goes up dramatically. You'll find artist not only hocking their wares, but also creating them before your eyes. There is some serious talent in the back of those malls.

If silk is your material of choice, Chang Mai is a good place to purchase it in bulk. Do not buy it at the night market. Instead, ask your hotel for a recommendation to a shop. Prices are low, but quality is high.

Traveler's Tip

Guidebooks will tell you the best way to get to Chang Mai is to take an overnight train from Bangkok. Liars! Flying domestically in Thailand is very cheap. A one-way flight from Bangkok to Chang Mai will run you about $40US. There is no need to book ahead. Just walk into the airport in Bangkok and buy a ticket on the spot.

If you prefer to spend the night in a bunk on a train, knock yourself out. Just keep in mind Thais tend to have smaller body masses than Westerners. Much smaller.

Of all the cities in Thailand, Chang Mai is my favorite. Yes, even more so than Bangkok.

A Behind the Scenes and Almost Underground Tour of Disney World By a Former Disney Cast Member

OK, OK, so you've been to Disney World about 87 times.

But how would you like an exclusive, private tour to see Walt Disney World as few ever will? As a former Disney World Cast Member I have volunteered to be your tour guide through the behind-the-scenes world of what makes Disney World so magical.

You'll have fun learning about a variety of backstage locations. We'll also take a peek under the Magic Kingdom Park and see Cast Member costuming, wardrobe, the so-called tunnel system, Disney's nursery and tree farm, waste treatment facilities and other service areas.

Let's start at the end, with sludge. Sludge from the water treatment facility is everybody's business dried out and then used on the grounds for fertilizer. Reclaimed tinkle water is used for watering grass and plants. The water valves are labeled "Reclaimed Water - Do No Drink" Thanks for the heads up, Mickey!

Now we'll visit the plant nursery. Remember all those cool and cute topiary designs around the park? Well, this is where Disney Cast Members grow and shape the topiary critters. All this coolness takes time; about seven to eight years to grow a single topiary character. One of my personal favorites is a smiling Mickey Mouse holding a Disney Vacation Club [http://www.edisneytimeshare.com] sign near the entrance to the Wilderness Lodge Hotel.

Then there is the parade storage area behind Splash Mountain. The back of Splash Mountain has many doors labeled, for example, "Access to Scene 31". Here you'll see Mickey Mania, Spectromagic, and the Electric Water Parade paraphernalia. You can walk around and look at the parade pieces all you want. But no photos please. The Spectromagic floats are made of mesh, so the driver can see out, and are covered with small Christmas-type lights controlled by computers. There is also a small fan to cool down the driver. If you or the kids have always wanted to look inside the Sea Witch float from The Little Mermaid, this is your big chance.

When I was a Disney cast member I strolled the tunnels on my breaks and dined in the underground cafeterias. Very romantic. Actually, the tunnels are fake. Since the water table is very high in Florida it would be costly to keep real tunnels dry. Disney thus built a neat system of utility corridors at ground level and then covered them with dirt. This made a new ground level one floor higher. The Magic Kingdom was built on top of this. Therefore, Main Street USA is actually on the second floor.

The "Utilidors" make a circle around the park connecting all of the Lands and rides. There is also a utility corridor under Main Street USA connecting the entrance to Cinderella's Castle. All of the Magic Kingdom utilities are nestled within the Utilidors. There is water, electricity, fiber optic cable, and the ultra-cool Vacuum Trash System.

The Disney World Vacuum Trash System has become a model for several other very large buildings, and even parts of cities and municipalities. The system uses pipes about two feet in diameter to suck all the trash to a central collection point.

Another unusual device in the Utilidors supplies the various odors to different parts of the park. There is one under the bakery that releases chocolate cookie smell into Main Street. Mickey wanted to use real cookie smell, as I recall. But, alas, there was no way to produce non-stop chocolate chip morsels. So, these odor producer machines are used for cookies and that just-right smell in many other places; smoke, orange groves, and so forth

The Utilidor also has various Cast Member services like a Credit Union, a 2-Hour Film Developer, cafeterias, and lockers. Costuming and wardrobe is also located down here. When I worked there I was always amused to see my favorite characters wandering around half dressed or carrying their heads. The walls of the Utilidors are color coded. There are also many maps and directional signs to help lost Cast Members (like me).

So when you visit Disney World for your 88th trip, keep an eye peeled for a sudden and magical character appearance. Mickey or Minnie may just pop out of a hidden door leading from the Utilidor below. And you'll know their secret!

Conveniently located in Elk Grove Village just north of O'Hare, this is a nice hotel and you will get a good nights rest knowing how much you are saving over airport parking alone.

   Radisson Hotel at O'Hare Airport is for those who want to be closer to the airport. Located just 2 miles from O'Hare, this park and fly package deal will only set you back about $119 for 7 days parking, with free shuttles running every 30 minutes, 24 hours a day. This is a top notch hotel for the price, and close to the airport. Other hotels this close to the airport will cost almost twice as much as this deal.

So as you can see, staying at one of these park and fly hotels is completely within your reach, especially if you have to park at O'Hare anyway. Often costing less than airport parking alone, these could fit right into your travel budget, and maybe even save you some time and money in the long run.

The Fitness Cardio Secret That Propels Lance Armstrong

What is Lance Armstrong doing that you can do to improve your results?

Most people exercise to lose weight, focusing solely on that one single goal. But
wait, it is not only about looking aesthetically pleasing, getting in those tight jeans,
or losing ten pounds. It is really about improving your health, and human
performance.

Each day when you are huffing and puffing on the treadmill, focusing vigorously
on keeping yourself lean, have you ever thought about what physically is
occurring in your body besides burning a bunch of calories?

For improved results, more people need to stop focusing solely on calorie burn,
and start thinking about improving such fitness values as VO2 Max, or maximum
oxygen uptake.

What exactly is your VO2 Max? VO2 Max is defined as the highest rate at which
oxygen can be taken in and used during high intensity dynamic exercise. When
you are exercising aerobically on your treadmill, each and every muscle
contraction requires oxygen to break down the fats, carbohydrates, and protein;
thus, providing energy (ATP) needed to fuel the muscles in order for movement to
occur.

Humans, at rest, need 3.5 ml of oxygen, every minute, for each kilogram of body
weight just to support the cellular activities in the tissues that keep us alive.

Now let's get back to our treadmill. As you increase the speed or incline
(intensity), more oxygen is required to transfer the oxygen through the blood and
into the muscles. Due to increased intensity during your exercise session, more
oxygen is required to initiate the energy releasing process.

Now let's take the treadmill up to a speed and incline where you can no longer
catch your breath comfortably. The intensity has increase significantly, but you
have reached an upper limit on the amount of oxygen you can take in. This is
your VO2 Max.

VO2 Max values differ from individual to individual. Factors such as age, health,
activity levels, training programs, and genetics all affect VO2 Max. A sedentary
person has a VO2 Max of around 20 ml of oxygen per kilogram of body weight per
minute of exercise. A highly trained endurance athlete can have a VO2 Max of
70 ml/kg/min.

Now why does Lance Armstrong win all those bike races? Yes, he has a great
training program, a great coach, and great equipment. However, his genetics for
an endurance athlete are nothing short of astounding. Do you know his VO2
Max measures around 83-85 ml/kg/min, while an average person's is around 40?
For Lance, his success is attributed to a combination of great training, will,
desire, and unbelievable genetic makeup.

A Super Human Lance:

1. Lungs - 2 times the capacity of the average person

2. Muscle - Accumulates less lactic acid and is more efficient at

removing it.

3. Heart - Is about 1/3 larger with a resting heart rate of 32 beats per

minute, and peaks around 200 beats per minute.

4. Body Fat - 4-5 percent before the Tour starts, while an average

person has 15-20 percent.

5. Food Consumption - Needs 6500 calories per day, and upwards of

10,000 per day when biking in the mountains during his 120 mile race.

Truly amazing!

How do you improve VO2 Max? Improvement is seen by progressively
challenging yourself aerobically with consistent workouts at 60% to 85% of your
maximum heart rate (220-age) for an extended period of time. The most
important variable is to continue attempting to increase intensity levels of your
workouts. Progressively overloading is the key; your body will adapt, and improve
your VO2 Max as well as burn more calories for decreased body fat.

Now you ask, how can I measure my VO2 Max?

For the most accurate measurement, you can go into a hospital, or a University
Human Performance Lab and get the test. You will generally use a treadmill or a
stationary bike, and be given an oxygen mask to measure your oxygen exchange.
You will also be connected with chest electrodes to measure your heart response.
The main objective is to walk, bike, or run as the intensity is progressively
elevated until it is not possible to go any longer. (You should be cleared or
monitored by your physician before attempting a VO2 Max test.)

The easier. but not as accurate way, is to do an estimated sub maximal aerobic
capacity test.

The following is one of the many tests that can be used.

Find a 400 meter track, bring a stopwatch, and walk/run as fast as you can go for
12 minutes. Keep track of the number of meters you have gone in 12 minutes,
and use the following formula.

Distance Covered in Meters - 504.9 / 44.730 = Estimated VO2 Max

Here is a rough guide:

4-5 laps covered, your VO2 Max will be around 30.

5-7 laps covered, your VO2 Max will be around 45.

7-8 laps covered (2800 meters), your VO2 Max will be around 62.

8-8.5 laps covered (3200 meters), your VO2 Max will be around 67

9 laps covered (3600 meters), your VO2 Max will be around 70.

Learn to keep a close eye on your fitness values and try to continually improve
them. Improvement will lead to great health benefits, and may result in your
goal of decreased body fat (depending upon your nutritional habits.)

Difference Between First Class and Economy Flight Tickets

When it comes to the difference between first class and economy flights, it can vary a great deal from airline to airline. Also, not every airline offers different classes, or an upgraded service. For those who do, the competition can be strong.

First class flights can vary from everything from more leg room and more luxurious seating, all the way up to private suites with beds and a wine selection that would wow some of the finest restaurants. Of course, all of this depends on the airline and the type of aircraft they have in their fleets. Airlines are not operating a business where there tends to be a lot of loyalty from their customers, so many continue to offer first class services to help them keep their customers coming back.

Economy class will provide you with a choice of private movies to view, or your coffee served in a china mug, as you would expect to see in a dining establishment. However, you will still be treated as fairly as passengers in the first class section. Some airlines have introduced a "premium" economy class on international flights which offer wider seating and a better seat adjustment so passengers can recline further. They also offer a higher quality and standard of food on the menu and a better beverage service, which is much appreciated when you are going to be on a plane for a ten to twelve hour flight. The cost for premium economy is not much different than the cost for regular economy class so it would no doubt be money well spent for a bit of added comfort.

Many airlines are looking at possibly dropping first class seating and simply offering a higher quality service in economy or the business class seating. The reason for this is ultimately, the prices they charge for first class. The special added extras are all very nice but many people are looking at things from a more practical side and to pay double of what you would for economy or business tends to bring people back down to earth.

For example, on average, a flight from JFK Airport in New York to LAX in Los Angeles costs approximately $360 for economy, but to take the same flight in first class will total $1360. Unfortunately, it is often reported that domestic first class service is far better from that found on international flights, so this is something you may want to investigate and consider before booking your next trip. Some people reported that the service was poor and the usual perks associated with "first class," are non-existent during domestic flights. Granted, the flights are usually not very long but at the same time when you pay for first class flight tickets, that is what you want to receive once you have boarded the plane.

The difference between the two classes of flight tickets in general lies between the service, cost, and what the individual flying feels is acceptable service. The flight service for first class is more attentive, has better food choices, and a number of "perks". Plus, generally there is more room offered and a better comfort level. The seating is at the front of the plane, which is divided from the rest of the passengers in business or economy, giving the illusion of importance. There is also greater leg room. If the price of first class, even though it runs generally double to triple the price of an economy class ticket, does not trouble you, then check with your airline before booking your next flight to find out the specifics they offer, and see if it might be the right flight choice for you.
