Eddie Vedder, is a popular singer who is the lead vocalist in the rock band Pearl Jam. He is quite famous in the world of alternative rock. Vedder ranked #23 in the Hit Parader list of the 100 Greatest Heavy Metal Vocalists of All Time. Vedder was born in the Chicago suburb of Evanston, Illinois. Vedder soon created the soundtrack for the 2007 film "Into the wild". The tracks for the film relate to folk music unlike the grudge and hard rock music that he usually plays. The final track "Guaranteed" of the film won him a Golden Globe Award in 2008. He received a Golden Globe Award nomination for the film's original score. The track received a nomination for the 2008 World Soundtrack Award in the category of Best Original Song Written Directly for a Film.

"Guaranteed" also got him a Grammy award nomination for Best song written for a motion picture, Television or other visual media in 2008. Another track in the film, "Rise" got him a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Solo in 2009.
